Job Description

This is an exciting and interesting time to join the AECOM Energy team covering all aspects of work within Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Renewables and Nuclear decommissioning, twinned with this is our ever-expanding digital scope, ensuring a variety of projects to work on.

We are seeking experienced BIM Managers to support advanced digital delivery across multiple opportunities. Successful candidates will work either within our central Digital Energy Team or within one of our three Energy practices: Nuclear, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), and R&D. In addition to supporting AECOM’s digital transformation, the role will involve holding active, long-term project positions as a BIM Manager on major programmes, including the National Grid Great Grid Upgrade Programme.

These are complex and high-profile roles, reflecting the scale and technical demands of major infrastructure programmes. The BIM Manager will be responsible for leading BIM delivery in line with ISO 19650 best practice, overseeing multidisciplinary BIM/CAD production, information coordination, and model-based collaboration across project teams and supply chains.

The role requires strong leadership in implementing and managing BIM standards, processes, and digital workflows at project and programme level. The most advanced candidates will bring experience delivering BIM at scale across large infrastructure portfolios, shaping strategic BIM implementation, supporting interface and data coordination, mentoring teams, and driving continuous improvement in digital delivery and project outcomes.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • BIM Implementation Strategy – develop BIM Implementation strategy & deliver complex international projects.
  • CDE Management – establish & administer the CDE & support efficient management of multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Project Management – coordinate BIM execution & project delivery with project leadership.
  • BIM Execution – create & maintain the project’s industry framework docs: BEP, MIDP, MPDT, appendices etc.
  • Technical Support – establish data-integrated workflows for Water Plant projects & provide support, guidance & training to project teams.
  • Digital Technology & Content Management – oversee the production of smart object content, templates & libraries in the context of the project, deploy the use of AECOM’s content management system (Autodesk Content Catalogue/UNIFI) onto projects and manage the best practice use of digital technology for collaboration, coordination & delivery.
  • Quality – establish & administer the digital quality assurance control procedures.
  • Collaboration – be an ambassador for a global group working with AECOM region project teams, Enterprise Capabilities office disciplines & other Enterprise Capabilities Digital departments.
